Studio NYL and partners garner national awards

Boulder, Colorado—November 10, 2008

Studio NYL Structural Engineers is proud to announce that it received the 2008 James S. Sudler, AIA, Award for Contribution to AIA Denver at the recent AIA Denver Gala Awards.  This award acknowledges an outstanding contribution to the chapter.  It recognizes those achievements of people who have, by their professionalism, dedication, leadership, ability and commitment, improved the quality of services offered by AIA Denver. 

Studio NYL also collaborated on several award winning projects this year, including three projects that won AIA Colorado awards: Merchants Row Brownstones with insitu Design (Honor award) (which also won a 2007 City of Denver Mayor’s award); Crescent Drive House Addition with Michael Folwell Architecture (Citation award) (which also won an AIA North award (Honor)); and Scandinavian Designs with Roth + Sheppard Architects (Citation award) where we provided Structural Glazing Consultancy services. 

We collaborated on three of eight projects that won AIA Denver Design awards including Kent Student Center for the Arts with Semple Brown Design (Merit award) (which also won a 2007 Golden Hard Hat Structural Steel award); Residence at 480 Poplar St. with Faleide Architecture Studio (Merit award); and the structural glazing elements of Scandinavian Designs with Roth + Sheppard Architects (Citation award).

Studio NYL collaborated on the Morningstar Residence with Mosaic Architects that won Mountain House of the Year 2008 from Mountain Living Magazine; Global Healthcare Exchange with OZ Architecture that won the 2008 ASID Commercial (over 35,000 s.f.) award; and Architectural Workshop’s Office with Architectural Workshop which won a 2008 Golden Hard Hat Sustainable Design award).
