Meet SEAC’s new Educational Committee Co-Chair

Studio NYL’s Senior Associate, Mere Hall, became the Structural Engineers Association of Colorado’s (SEAC) Educational Committee Co-Chair this year. Studio NYL has always been a strong supporter of SEAC and its activities and Studio NYL team members have volunteered on several committees over the years.

The SEAC Educational Committee works to provide professional development through technical and business education for the enrichment of the structural engineering community of Colorado. “We work to facilitate shared knowledge across our industry through technical and educational programming including seminars, project presentations and tours, networking, and PE/SE study groups.”

Mere Hall is excited to promote structural engineering in Colorado and broaden accessibility to great educational resources. She is mostly excited about the Fall seminar which will be hosted in person, after a few years of going virtual!

Committee’s Activities include:

  • Host the annual SEAC Fall Seminar providing SEAC members and non-members with a half-day educational workshop on relevant design, construction and code-related topics.

  • Host project presentations by local engineers to share challenges faced and lessons learned on various engineering projects

  • Provide new technical, educational, outreach, and networking activities

  • Organize the PE/SE kick-off meeting with the goal of organizing study groups and discounted study tools for upcoming PE/SE exams. A 58 % webinar group discount was achieved for the 2017 April Exam.

  • Organize the PE/SE bridge review session. 1.5 PDH for the Bridge Review session participants is provided upon request
