Overview
”One Bucket at a Time" is an interactive pavilion installation that traveled from Mexico to Canada. The structure weaves together thousands of common five-gallon painters’ buckets connected by a woven rope structure to form two giant waves. The interactive piece was originally designed as part of Mextrópoli City Architecture Festival. It was so well received that it was reinterpreted for the Winnipeg Design Festival and Nuit Blanche/Culture Days in Canada. In Winnipeg, visitors were encouraged to ‘fill the wave’ with donations that funded Ayuda y Solidaridad con las Niñas de la Calle, a Mexican orphanage for at-risk girls and young women located in Mexico City.
