Overview
The 193,750 square feet project was part of a new era in the clients’ pursuit to rebrand itself. Liverpool department stores are one of the most popular shopping destinations in Mexico. The geographic location of this site is surrounded by congested intersections and busy roads, which influenced the “futuristic” facade design. The existing circular footprint drove the customization process and influenced the facade design intent. “Flexibility, fluidity, and dynamism drove the design process.”

Our Role
Studio NYL provided facade consulting and specialty structural engineer services.

Approach
The facade consists of a digitally-fabricated rainscreen that includes violent geometric changes in one of the highest seismic zones in the world. Studio NYL also designed a skylight system using parametrically-designed apertures mixed with a simple veneer curtain wall system, atrium floor level framing, and turf room framing concepts.

What We’re Proudest Of:
This project would not have been possible without the integration of REVIT models and digital fabrication innovations.
