Overview
This 188,196 square foot flagship store for the Mexico-based grocery chain is located on the outskirts of Mexico City. The store, which sought to give back to the community, features a unique program that not only includes traditional retail spaces and parking, but also a rooftop terrace that housed a large orchard and market square that gave store patrons access to information about organic faming and local produce to purchase. This experience contributes to an appreciation of food and understanding of the farm-to-fork movement. The market square now accommodates local producers, adding to the variety traditionally offered by the supermarket.
